Hotel General Manager (Limited Service)
Job Description:

We require a hands on dynamic General Manager with a strong operational background. This person will be responsible for the day to day operation of the hotel with an emphasis on sales, development of people and quality assurance. We offer a great career opportunity with excellent growth potential.

The ideal candidate is one who is ready to work hard. This position is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction and effectiveness and efficiencies.
A commitment to creating and maintaining a quality product and guest/associate relations is a must. Yield management experience preferred and a successful sales background is a plus. Excellent communication, problem solving and PC (Windows-based software) skills will be required.
Maximizes room revenues by anticipating and planning for market shifts; develops and monitors strategic marketing prospects; develops, implements and monitors annual business and marketing plans and participates in appropriate national marketing efforts.
Develops and maintains rapport with key community contacts to ensure a visible presence in the local community.
Oversees the security function to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, associates, and hotel assets.
Establish and maintain a proactive human resources function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage/benefit administration and compliance with policies and procedures and labor regulations.
Develops and monitors the performance of financial and operational plans for the hotel which support the overall objectives of the corporation; develops the annual budget and makes recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the company and brand loyalty.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in hotel management or equivalent and two years experience as General Manager. Complete knowledge of front desk/guest services operations, room sales and marketing, housekeeping and maintenance required.
General Manager takes charge of all components of his/her property's business, serving as a positive role model for all subordinates while representing the owner's fiduciary interests. Specific key responsibilities are:
1. Generate maximum financial and operational performance.
2. Lead the revenue effort of the entire property with an emphasis on driving market share and maximizing REVPAR.
3. Champion the Hotel's Business plan and specific Mission Statement.
4. Develop and nurture a team of Management and Line Staff members that are directed towards the achievement of the hotel's goals and priorities. Fully implement and utilize the integrated goal planning and performance appraisal processes.

1. Strong interpersonal/leadership skills, professional, caring behavior toward both guests and team members. A positive reference from supervisors peers and subordinates.
2. "Guest first" service approach. Demonstrated guest service success.
3. "Do it now" approach. Entrepreneurial style that reflects a true sense of pride and ownership. Demonstrated success in achieving revenue growth and the implementation of yield management and business plans.
