Legoland California:
Located less than 30 minutes from Legoland California, created by the Danish toy manufacturer it is the only park of its kind in the United States. The 128-acre park is designed to stimulate the imagination of youngsters ages 2 and up. Six distinctive play areas feature unique attractions, family rides, restaurants, opportunities to build and areas to explore. About 30 million LEGO bricks were used to create more than 1,000 colorful LEGO models that decorate the park, adding to its appeal. Discount tickets and packages available.

Beaches:
Located less than 1 mile from more than 5 miles of sun splashed beaches. Whether you are swimming, fishing, windsurfing, water skiing, taking a long walk or sunbathing, our pristine white sandy beaches are awaiting you.

Lagoons:
Solana Beach is surrounded by picturesque lagoons, each with distinctive ecosystems. The lagoons are tranquil and unspoiled, providing safe haven for a wide variety of wildlife. The lagoons are ideal for nature walks and bird watching.

Golf:
When it comes to golf, San Diego is Southern California's Sweet Spot. More than a dozen spectacular courses in and around Solana Beach offer the golfer a wonderful mix of challenge and excitement. Carlsbad just minutes away, is home for several golf equipment manufacturers. Take a factory tour and gain an appreciation for the precision required in manufacturing a golf club.

Sports and More:
There are several world-class sporting events and other exciting activities scheduled throughout the year in Carlsbad. Starting off the New Year is the San Diego Marathon in January. More than 9,000 long distance runners from throughout the world converge on Carlsbad for the weekend of running events. The Accenture Match Play Championship is in February. This PGA-sanctioned event at La Costa Resort and Spa showcases the world's top 64 golfers in a series of intense match-play competitions. World-Class runners from around the globe call Carlsbad home in March as they come to compete in the Carlsbad 5000, America's premier 5K race. With more than 10,000 runners, and 30,000 spectators, the Village resonates with excitement. The First Annual Ironman California Triathlon is being held this May in Carlsbad and is the qualifying race for those planning to compete in the Ironman World Championships held in Hawaii every year. The Carlsbad Village Street Fairs held the first Sundays in May and November, are the largest single day street fairs in California. The Village bursts at the seams as 80,000 people browse past 850 arts and crafts booths seeking unique gift items. Each August, Tennis enthusiasts converge on La Costa Resort and Spa to watch the world’s top women tennis players compete in the Annual La Costa Tennis Classic.

Oceanside Pier and Harbor:
Only 5 minutes from Oceanside’s landmark pier take a stroll for a unique vantage point of the beautiful coastline. The quaint harbor with hundreds of small sailboats is also a departure point for deep-sea fishing and whale watching.

Wild Animal Park:
Only 30 minutes from The San Diego Wild Animal Park is one of the foremost wildlife preserves in the world. Here, animals from around the globe are born, live and thrive in a free environment. Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack:
While trade shows and exhibits are held throughout the year, the fairgrounds really come alive in mid-June until early July when it becomes the site of the Del Mar Fair and for horse racing season beginning in late July.
